Who is a Good Candidate for Lip Fillers?

There are several reasons why someone would consider lip fillers they can be injected in varying amounts to plump, define or correct a lip shape for the perfect pout.

Reasons People Consider Lip Fillers

Often people consider fillers as a result of volume loss due to aging, lack of volume due to genetics, increase the size or alter the shape of their lips.

Where are Lip Fillers Injected?

The upper and lower lips have distinct areas and sizes for what is considered an ideal lip. A slightly larger lower lip is considered more diserable.

When fillers are injected volume is injected into the lower lip, upper lip, cubid’s bow and areas around the lip.

Our injector will assess your concerns and inject fillers to result in the ideal ratio and restoration in and around the lip.

Common Concerns with Aging Lips

With age, the Cupid's bow or the filtrum near the nose can collapse or lose shape. Therefore, often lip fillers put in these areas to correct age-related concerns.

In addition, as people age, lips can develop lipstick lines around the top of the lip. These can also be corrected with fillers giving the lip a more rejuvenated look.

Will My Lips Look Overdone?

Often people are concerned about looking overdone. Celebrities often give the impression that lip injections make you look fake. In fact, you have to use a lot of lip fillers to get to that point! Too much filler into the upper lip can cause what is called a “duck lip.”

A great injector can tell you when you are using too much filler and may start to see a ducking or flipping up of the upper lip which is something that can be a telltale sign that you've had too much lip fillers.

Depending on the natural shape and size of your lips you can fill up to a certain extent before it looks like it's overdone.

What to Expect During Lip Injections

Lips are a very sensitive area of the face. We use recommend applying topical numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable.

Post-lip injection care is very important. The lips will swell after being injected depending on how much filler was injected.

We recommend being gentle with your lips after injections, not drinking alcohol, and applying a gentle amount cold to the lips to help.

What Kinds of Fillers are Used in the Lips?

Usually, HA filler such as Restylane, Juvederm, Belotero, or RHA is recommended for the lips. Depending on the specific result you were hoping for, we can recommend a filler and how much you may need.

How long will Lip Fillers Last?
