All About Botox!

Is Botox Safe?

Botox is backed by over 16 years of studies. It has been in use and studied for both medical and cosmetic purposes. In addition, Botox has a temporary effect that dissipates over time.

How does Botox work?

Botox works by temporarily reducing muscle activity which then softens or prevents the causes of frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines.

Is Botox Used in the Lips?

It is a common misconception that Botox is used to plump lips. In fact, lip fillers are used to plump lips and there are many different dermal filler options for volumizing areas of the face.

Will I Look Unnatural After Botox?

With a trained, experienced injector Botox is very subtle. No one should be able to tell that you've had anything done. Often you looked just more refreshed.

Does Botox Hurt?

The best Botox injectors use the finest needles to inject Botox into the face if you are particularly sensitive you can also apply a topical numbing treatment before your treatment.

How Many Units of Botox Do I Need?

Each individual is slightly different when using Botox. After your 1st treatment, we may start to learn more about how much you need to see the optimal effect. Our injector may then make recommendations for future treatments. We start with the standard unit dosing for different areas of the face and then we reassess how you respond to treatments.

What Age is Good for Starting Botox?

Any age when you notice wrinkles! Some people start seeing significant wrinkles on their faces younger than others. Any time that you are bothered by wrinkles on your face is a good time to discuss Botox. How Long Does it Take for Botox to Take Effect?

Botox takes a few days to a full week to see the full effect of the 1st treatment. Botox can last from 3 to 6 months depending on your individual metabolism and the strength of the muscles on your face.

Will I Have Any Downtime or People Will Notice My Treatment?

Treatment requires little to no downtime you can return to your daily routine immediately without disruption. We do recommend that you don't lay down immediately after treatment, but you should be fine the evening after treatment.

What are the Common Side Effects?

Side effects are rarely seen, but in trials, the most common side effects are eyelid drooping, eyelid swelling and brow drooping. You can read more about the side effects on the Botox website.
